Sherif Nour was raised and brought up in Cairo, Egypt. He was born in an artistic family and environment, his father was a theatrical writer, critic and a script writer. In the seventies, he founded the Egyptian musical group "Sunshine" and performed on Cairo stages. After High School he studied music, harmony and music composing at Helwan University, having graduated with a high degree.
== Start of Career ==

In the beginning, Sherif joined the Faculty of Law, then his father advised him to quit the law faculty to join the Faculty of Musical Education. In the seventies, Sherif founded a musical band called "Sunshine" which performed Latin music. At the start, they used to hold concerts in clubs including Helliopolis, Helliolido & El Tayaran. In 1977 he started to play in the casino "Ciroko" in Marsa Matrouh during the summer.
At the start of his studies he had a dream of finding a musical instrument that could add and renovate Egyptian music. This was why in 1979 when he was in Italy (Rome) he bought a keyboard, and this was the beginning for the great artist.
In 1982, he graduated from the Faculty of Musical Education, with the faculty offering him a chance to continue his studies and do his Masters, but he refused believing it would slow down his talent’s development, and might block his creativity.
From 1982 to 1993, he played with his bands in hotels on a daily basis. He used to listen to Western Music, but regularly listened and admired Egyptian music.
After that, the famous Egyptian singer Mohamed Mounir offered him to join his group as a keyboard player after the departure of the former German keyboard player, then Mounir offered him to compose the music and songs for the play "Masaa El Kheir Ya Masr" which was performed on the Egypt Comedy Theatre for two years. At the start of 1996, the famous Egyptian director Enaam Mohamed Ali offered him to compose the music for the TV serial "Noona El Shaanoona", earning him the Award for the Best Music for the TV Serials. Afer that, he decided to continue as a music composer for the programmes and documentaries, as well as animation serials music including: Bakaar, the most famous TV Egyptian cartoon (more than 270 episodes), Super Heneidy, Amin's Family and more..
